Current Fall Favorites

All items from Ruche

Long time no blog update, right?!?
I have missed you guys!
Oh my, the past few weeks have been so crazy busy for me. At work there was a huge deadline, so I was working large amounts of overtime. Then I was sick last week, which put me out for a good four solid days(ickkk), and then this past week after taking senior photos for my cousin, I was a busy little bee editing them every night after work. Phew! Luckily, the last item that kept me busy was quite fun! The photos turned out great and boy have I sure missed working in Photoshop.

Anyways, I am sort of in love with all the above pieces. I definitely need to get my hands on a polka dot sweater this year! Last year I never got around to it on my limited clothing budget. And although I am not much of a heel wearer, those t-straps are too cute.

What are your current fall favorites?!
I hope you all have a great weekend! I will be catching up with two friends that coincidently happen to be in town at the same time. Two friends that I met when living in Texas and we used to all hang out together too. It shall be fun :)

Burgundy Love

Pants-H&M
Top-F21
Shoes-Report via Ross
Jacket-Target
Cameo-Gift from Mom

Photo overload, I know....but all the beautiful fall colors left it so hard to pick just a few and the fact that I am sort of obsessed with this outfit didn't help either. In my last post, I had mentioned that I finally purchased the burgundy pants from H&M that I had been lusting over.....well here they are. I have been spotting these pants all over the blogosphere and just had to get my hands on some. I didn't know it was possible to have this much love for a pair of pants. So much in fact, that they didn't even have my correct size, so I opted to buy a size too large, because I wanted them that much. haha

I loved the idea of pairing the burgundy with soft pink and lace, faux leather and of course a little vintage flare with the cameo necklace.

It was my sweet hubs Birthday yesterday!! We started out the day with a yummy birthday breakfast of Spiced Pumpkin Pancakes, then later we hung out with some of his close friends and went to our favorite Thai place in our favorite neighborhood (Capitol Hill). After we ate, we all went for a nice walk around around the neighborhood and popped into a few shops. We then all headed back to our place, where we had mini chocolate cupcakes, the guys played video games and I discovered my love for hard cider! haha
Specifically Samuel Smith's Organice Cider. So delish. I totally have a new favorite drink.
Not sure why I had never tried hard ciders before, boy was I missing out! :)

Also, remember back when I hosted the baby shower a few months ago for my brother and his wife?! Well they had their baby boy today!! So happy for them and can't wait to meet the precious little guy. So excited to be his Aunt Lizzie!!

What did you guys do this weekend?! I hope it was great, whatever it was!

Boho Blouse

Top-F21
Shorts-Thrifted
Tights-HUE
Oxfords&Belt-Target

Well, Boho-esque blouse....but that title just didn't sound as good.
This blouse has been one of my go-to tops lately. I sort of love everything about it.

So, how has everybody's weekend been?!? I hope it has been just wonderful. Mine has been pretty low key; I finally got the burgundy pants from H&M I have been lusting over. So. Happy. Can't wait to style those babies.
It has been so unseasonably nice and warm here in the Seattle area lately. Like in the 70s. Which if you have ever been to Seattle in October, you know it's odd, because the standard is 50 degrees with rain. So weird, but obviously super nice. I don't mind having an extended summer at all :)
Despite the summer-ish weather, I have fully submerged myself into all things Fall.
This morning the hubs and I had Pumpkin Spice Pancakes and Apple Cider for breakfast and I made my first soup of the season last week. YUM.

Have a great one!

Favorite Season

Oh, Autumn. My favorite season of all time. Crunchy leaves, hot drinks, sweaters, scarfs, tights, boots and so much more to love about this time of the year.
This being my first outfit post of the season, it was soooo nice to wear a chunky cardigan and boots again! I much prefer styling outfits in the cooler months, yay layering!

Dress made by:sister-in-law

Boots-Payless

I had an idea for an outfit I was going to to wear today, but upon getting a surprise package in the mail containing this amazingly adorable dress, made by my super sweet sister-in-law(my brother helped a little too, hehe), that idea quickly went out the window. She knows me toooo well, I tell ya! Neutral, Oatmeal colored top, light blue bottom with vintage style flowers which are the perfect color and delicate vintage lace trim. Tank dress perfection.

So, how is everyones weekend so far?! Great, I hope! Mine has been pretty relaxed, which is always nice. The hubs and I went on a nice walk to the location these photos were taken. The early fall air felt sooo good and a few trees leaves were already changing color! And then I picked up a few more pairs of thick, opaque tights....something you can never have enough of :)

I sort of can't believe it!! Time flies, I tell ya.

I have had soooo much fun and truly enjoy, as well as greatly appreciate all the connections and opportunities this blog has brought me.

Each and every comment from all you lovelies, sincerely brings a smile to my face.

I was going to do something special for this post, but couldn't really think of anything else......so I leave you with a picture of me and my new hair.
If you saw this post, I mentioned how I was thinking about getting bangs. Well, I did it....and I am sort of in love.

Here is to another year of blog fun!!
Thank you for joining me on this little journey of mine and I hope you continue to.

Red Skirt, White Shirt

Top-H&M
Skirt&Belt-Target
Shoes-Payless
Necklace-F21
Frames-Firmoo

In my last post, you got a sneak peak of this outfit...well, the top half at least. This has been one of my favorite, go-to outfits lately. I have worn it more than I would like to admit, but can you really blame me? What's better than an owl, bicycles and lace all together in one look?! Not much, I tell ya!

I thought I would throw in one of the very few full length photos of me with my sweet frames on. Those babies really are fun to wear, but it's crazy how much glasses can change your appearance.

Oh my, it has been soooo dry here in the Seattle area lately, look how dead that grass is! When we were taking these photos, we kept saying how much it reminded us of Texas.....but then we looked up at the big, beautiful Evergreens and sighed in relief.

It's Friday tomorrow guys, that means the weekend is almost upon us! Are you doing anything fun?! I am getting my hair trimmed, which hasn't happened since last December. Eeeeiikkk! Lets just say my ends are looking pretty raggedy up close.
I am also greatly considering getting bangs!
What do you think? I need help...so any input either way is highly appreciated :)

Review: Firmoo Frames

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you have probably noticed that I am not much of an eyewear person. I rarely wear sunglasses because most styles are uncomfortable after awhile and give me a headache and I have pretty much perfect eyesight, so no need for a prescription here.
But lately, I have been sort of digging the whole big, vintage wayfarer-esque look.

So, it was pretty coincidental that Firmoo contacted me recently and asked if I would like to review one of their products. Although I was hesitant at first because of said reasons, I thought this would be a great opportunity to finally try out this fun trend, not to mention they have a vast selection of affordable and on trend styles. They even have a Virtual Try-On System, so that you can see how the glasses will look on you before you even purchase them. You just uploaded a photo of yourself and then "try on" as many different styles as your little heart desires.

It honestly took me a bit to get used to how I looked with frames on, but it was fun to change things up with a funky new accessory. I am so surprised by how lightweight and comfy (they didn't hurt and give me a headache) these babies are! I could definitely see myself wearing them when I want to add a little something different to my look.

Firmoo has launched an exciting program in which first-time buyers receive their first purchase for free! Click here to check out more about this sweet deal. This whole experience working with them has been great from start to finish, with responsive and great customer service.

If you need glasses in order to actually read this, you just want to have some fun with different looks or need some new sunglasses...I would definitely give these guys a whirl.

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend by the way!! I had a fun-filled day yesterday catching up with friends I have had for the majority of my life, including one I hadn't seen in 5 years! Definitely a much over due visit! We went out for yummy pizza and then went and got our drink on.....at like 2 in the afternoon. Call me a lush, but day drinks are the best! By the end of our time together, my cheeks hurt from all the great laughter.
