Green Thumb

Thought I would finally share some photos of the things I planted for our little patio garden a few weeks ago! African Daisies, Strawberries, Sweet Peas and various other flowers. I especially can not wait till the summer when I can pick some of the fresh strawberries....yummy!

We hope to slowly add some more plants and patio items, so it doesn't look so bare and looks a bit more colorful, but this is a good start, that definitely makes me happy!

Someday my dream is to have a house (totally am not meant to be a lifetime apartment dweller) with a big back yard where I can have a huge garden that a large portion of our fruits and veggies will come from. Also, to have a little chicken coop for yummy eggs and a pygmy goat for fresh milk....ohhh and because they are so darn cute and wonderful pets :)

Hope everyones week is off to a good start!

Hometown Love

Sweater-UO
Lace Shorts-Bar III via Macy's
Faux Leather Jacket & Flats-Target

So if you can't tell by the massive photo overload, I was having such an amazing time hanging out on the windy, chilly rocks by the bay and walking along the still frosty, wooden trail in my hometown over Christmas vacation. Days that look this gorgeous and sunny in the winter are very far and few between in the Pacific Northwest, especially along the coast.

My hometown is a little place 20 mins from the Pacific Ocean, about two hours from Seattle, where I now live. Growing up I despised living there, especially in High School...but as I get older, I can see why people call that little ol' town home (although I couldn't see myself living there ever again) and can appreciate all the beauty that it is, especially on glorious days like those photoed above.

Ohhh and about the outfit....I am totally loving all the textures going on here. What is better than loosely sewn comfy cable knit, faux leather and lace all paired together?! Not much, I tell ya! From the moment I purchased that berry colored sweater, I can't seem to get enough of it. Pairing it with skirts, flares...everything. Love love love.

Hope you all had a wonderful week and are getting ready to ring in the New Year!
3-day weekend for me babies!

A Peek Inside

Do you ever wonder what a persons surroundings are as they type their posts?
We often see the personal style, food they enjoy or photos outside of the place they call home, but rarely do we see the items inside of their residence that also reflects their personal style.

So, I decided to share my favorite bits and pieces that make up our home :)

I really like a funky mix of items and floral patterns of all colors. As you can probably tell, I really like birds, especially owls and little 70's inspired trinkets, although I try to stay away from a main "theme".

I also love filling my space with vintage pieces that were given to me and that have a little story behind them:

The penny-farthing (bike) wall hanging was given to me by my mom and used to hang in the kitchen of the house I grew up in. As a child, I used to stare at it as I ate my breakfast before school and would imagine myself being able to ride it around the neighborhood.
The little red mushroom with a hat on, was also given to me by my mother. Her sister and her made them in an art class while they were in elementary school. So cute.
The tin, Texas cigarette box was my late Grandpa's that he bought when stationed in Ft. Worth while in the military, way back in the day. Before my Grandma passed, she gave it to us while we were living in Texas. Even though I don't love Texas, I love this little gem.

Ohhhh and I totally know my cat isn't an item or decoration, but he is just tooo darn cute and a huge part of our little life not to include haha

Hope you enjoyed getting a little peek inside my home and getting to know me a little more :)

Seattle Neighborhoods

About a year before we moved back to the Pacific Northwest, I discovered this amazing company called Ork Posters. The artist behind the company designs posters & screen prints for various city neighborhoods from L.A. to the Twin Cities, Boston and NYC.....there is a nifty lookin' neighborhood poster for your city.

I knew that once we moved to the Seattle area, I needed my very own to grace our teeny-tiny apartment's wall.  A few months ago I decided on the special edition screen print and couldn't be more satisfied. The sizing of these posters are kind of funky, so I matted it myself and then framed it.
DYI baby...

Pretty cool, right?!
Check out their site if you wanna show your city some love by decorating your wall with one of these
sweet little babes...

Hope you are all having a good week...tomorrow is FRIDAY!
Thank.God.
