Summer Evening on the Waterfront

A few photos from mine and the hubs dinner date :)

Summer is dwindling down, so the hubs and I thought it would be fitting to have a little date day on Seattle's waterfront. We were originally thinking about making a trip down to Portland, but decided to stay local, which was a great life choice....because we enjoyed one feast of a dinner at The Crab Pot. If you love seafood and have never been....I highly recommend it. I can't think of anything better on a later summer evening than sitting outside next to the water, with seagulls cawing above, all while eating some delish food, caught right off the local waters.

Before dinner we spent some time in our favorite neighborhood, Capitol Hill, browsing thrift shops and listening to tunes in local record stores. Something about that neighborhood makes us feel so youthful and alive. After our rather larger dinner, we walked around on the pier, watched the ferries come and go and saw the sun slowly slip into the Puget Sound.
Perfect day with the most perfect dude :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!

Dream & Bliss: Part 2

Here are my last two looks from my recent collaboration with the local Seattle boutiques, Bliss and Dream

Look #3:
H&M Belt
Target black tank
Payless Sandals

So, I am sort of a little obsessed with this skirt. The two main reasons are the hi-lo hem and that it's an accordion skirt.... two things that I have been looking for in a skirt for awhile. It's a match made in clothing heaven in my book. Also, the color is sort of amazing too.
I paired it with the most perfect white linen blazer, ideal for layering in the summertime and something that I foresee being a wardrobe staple. So many easy, endless styling options.

Look #4:
Bar III Lace Shorts via Macys
Vintage Necklace
Target Belt
Steve Madden Flats

Out of all four looks, I felt most like myself in this one, probably because of how feminine, neutral toned and vintage inspired it is.
I love the cute little polka dots and tie detail of this sheer top, especially paired with some lace shorts.

Through this process I have learned something style-wise about myself that I wasn't conscious of or just never really considered before; I am not much of an accessorizer. I like to keep things simple, with just maybe a necklace, ring or belt and I don't tend to go over to top with any one item in particular. Accessorizing definetly has it's place, but I feel as though my main focus is always the outfit itself.

Have you recently found out anything about your personal style that you never really thought about before?

Dream & Bliss: Part 1

Recently I was contacted with an offer to partner up with two local, Seattle based boutiques, Bliss and Dream. The two sister shops are conveniently located right across from each other in Fremont and are filled with on trend and affordable clothing and accessories. Not to mention, super sweet and fun staff, whom I got the pleasure of spending a few hours with this past Saturday afternoon.

It was honestly so hard to pick just a few looks, which explains why I walked out with 4 different outfits.

Look #1:
Flats: Steve Madden

I have been really lovin' bright skinny jeans lately, so when I saw these, I instantly was drawn to them.
Also, I couldn't get enough of this bright floral top! I love how relaxed and chill this look is and totally different from most things in my closet, it was so much fun to switch it up a bit.

Look #2:
Necklace:F21
Sandals:Payless

I was drawn to this bright blue, adorable Hi-Lo dress because of the great color, cute back cut-out detail and of course that simple fact that is is a Hi-Lo dress, which is all the rage right now.
I paired it with the fabulous big chunky ring, threw on a necklace and strappy sandals and called it good. Such an easy breezy early summer look.

*Be on the look out for Part 2, featuring my two other looks!

Spring Flowers

**A sneak peak into what I am actually doing in every third photo my hilarious & sweet husband takes for me**
Top- Romy
Shorts-Thrifted AE
Feather Necklace-F21
Tights-Target
Bow Flats-Steve Madden

Spring is finally here! Yay for birds chirping, sun shining and flowers blooming. To fit in and be one with nature, I decided to wear this floral top with pretty lace shoulders.
It was so nice yesterday when we took these photos at The University of Washington campus, that I didn't even have to wear or carry a cardigan with me! It.felt.amazing!

As you can see in the last photo there were a ton of people hanging out there. Apparently, every year people come from all over the country to see the Cherry Blossoms. It's sort of a big deal.
So, when we first arrived I was like "Uhhhh, I hope we can find an isolated area to take a few photos...".
That obviously didn't happen, but after I realized that no one actually cared about the weird girl posing under trees and that they were more interested in the Cherry Blossoms they traveled hundreds maybe even thousands of miles to see, my embarrassment soon faded.

I hope you all are having a glorious, sun filled weekend :)

It's Christmas Time in the City....

Merry Christmas all you wonderful people!!
Hope your day is filled with everything nice :)

I took these photos last weekend when Tim and I went into the city (Seattle) to check out all the pretty Christmas lights and festivities. There was a pretty impressive Gingerbread Village we checked out that made the entire room smell of sugary sweet candies. It was awesome.

P.S. Can you see the reflection of Tim and I in the huge, silver ornament? hehe

Enjoy your holiday!

A Night at the Beach

Have you ever been to a beach at night time? It is pretty spectacular.
Especially if the beach is across the water from a cool skyline that has amazing looking clouds hovering above it.

Tim and I were feelin' young, antsy and wanted to get out of the house last Saturday night. At about 9:30 we came to the spontaneous conclusion that we would go to a beach; Alki Beach in Seattle.
I brought my camera and tripod with hopes of getting some good photos. I really like the way these turned out, hope you enjoy them too....

The first photo is definitely my favorite.
In the 2nd photo, the moving object towards the left is a Ferry. I loved how it looked while in motion...

The entire time we were hanging out and taking these photos, we could hear the sea lions talking to each other and the clanging of the bells on the boats as they went by.
Such a nice experience.

Sounds in the City

On Saturday one of my favorite bands, Iron and Wine, played a show in Seattle at the Paramount and I was lucky enough to get to see them! My lovely husband bought the tickets for us pretty much the second they went on sale, to ensure that I would be able to enjoy their amazing sound live.

Before the concert, we hung around downtown, going to various touristy spots that we rarely go to on a regular basis. When we go into the city, we usually stick with parks and the neighborhoods, so it was fun to be in the fast paced, heart of downtown for a change.

Here's some photos I took before the show :)

After we parked and walked a few blocks, we realized we were pretty hungry, so yummy Chinese it was! Honey chicken over brown rice...mmmmm.
Pike Place.
The infamous gum wall!
YUMMY!
hahahaha
The wall opposite the gum wall, is plastered with posters, graffiti, and random words/sayings. I found this one to be particularly interesting.
While in the alley, I couldn't help but to snap a few outfits photos. Please excuse the odd uphill angle and my feet doing awkward things...
Favorite new accessories.
Flowers made of steel
On the Pier

My new brown brogues! Finally! It only took me like 2 years to find a perfect pair in my size that weren't astronomically priced. haha
Seattle Center

We were all walked out, so we decided to take the monorail to get back near The Paramount. It was Tim's first time on the monorail...which was a surprise to me lol
Right before the show...

Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos inside of the concert :/ I didn't want to lug my big ol' camera around and on their website it said no cameras or recording devices, but sure enough, when we got inside and the show started, I noticed people using all sorts of little cameras! Boooooo. Oh well, great memories nonetheless!

(Outfit Details:)
Floral dress on clearance at Target for only $10! Belt & Shoes-Target too haha. Turquoise stone ring-Gift from Mom. Bracelet-AE.

Dont' want the weekend to endddd!!
