Emerald City. Emerald Dress?

Dress-Target
Belt-H&M
Tights-HUE
Flats-Steve Madden

It's always super disappointing when an outfit's color doesn't photograph as vibrant as it looks in person. This dress actually is a brighter, emerald color...not turquoisey-blue hued, as these photos suggest. However, I still love the dress in these photos....you just have to use your imagination a bit :)

There is something so great about a simple dress like this. The chevron-esque pattern, short little sleeves and finished with a belt. I am sold.
Also, I was digging the pattern/texture mixin' I had going on pairing it with my new black flats!

Sooooo, how are you guys?! I hope you're having a splendid weekend! As I am typing this, I have a boneless pork shoulder/butt beginning to cook in the crock pot. By the time I wake up in the morning, there should be some tender and delish pork ready for me to shred for pulled pork sandwiches.
I am one of those people who use the Super Bowl as an excuse to cook special foods, but don't give a hoot about the actual game. :)

A New Year, A New Dress

Dress-F21
Cardi&Oxfords-Target

Or three new dresses thanks to Christmas money, but who's counting, right?!
If you follow me on instagram (@lizziepcth), you got a sneak peak of this outfit...which I am sort of in love with.

Sooooo, how are all those new years resolutions coming along so far? Great, I hope, especially considering we are only 5 days in. :) I am not one to really make resolutions, but if I had to choose something, it would have to be being more present and positive.
Not that I am a negative nelly or anything, but just working towards having a more positive outlook overall.

Do you lovelies have anything you would like to accomplish or improve in 2013?

Just Another Caturday

Dress: Anthropologie
Coat&Belt:Target
Tights: HUE
Flats: Payless
Scarf: H&M

Upon first spotting this dress by Leah Goren at Anthropologie several months back, I knew that one day it had to be mine. But, being the mostly frugal person I am, waited and hoped that it would be on sale, in my size.....someday. Well it was, $40. Which is crazy cheap for an Anthro dress.

If you know me, I am sort of crazy about cats. Anything having to do with cats makes me super happy, so obviously this dress is quickly becoming one of my faves.
Hopefully some more cat print beauties will be gracing my closet in the near future. :)

Anyways, how is your weekend going?!? Mine has been good thus far! Yesterday the hubs and I headed downtown to take in the sights and sounds of everything Christmas. Checked out an ice rink and super adorable mini Christmas Village, stumbled upon a random mob of about 200+ Santas having a dance party in Westlake Center, and of course, saw all the pretty lights and Christmas trees scattered throughout the area and Pike Place Market. It was wonderful.

Lady in Red...

Dress: Madewell
Tights: Hue
Oxfords: F21
Necklace: Vintage
Lips: Kate Moss Collection

Hey! Remember me?! That one girl that used to post at least once a week, on a regular basis? Well, I am back again! I took an unintentional blogging hiatus and hope to be back to my old blogging self.
The past weekends have been booked solid with family, friends and being social in real life.....not on the interwebs. Also, the fact that it gets dark at 4pm now and the weather is generally rainy all the time, really puts a damper on my chances of taking some photos for this ol' blog of mine.

Anyways, I am like seriously obsessed with this dress. Like for real. Call me crazy, but Taylor Swift was actually my inspiration for purchasing a bright, vibrant red dress. I saw her doing an interview on t.v. about a month ago and she was wearing a red dress+red lips and I sort of feel in love with the idea of having my very own said dress. Once I laid eyes on this babe, I knew it was it. OH and the peter pan collar kind of made me hyperventilate in excitement.

Also, now that my hair is long enough and I have bangs, I decided to try wearing my hair in a bun! What do you think? Plus, a peter pan collar just screams to be shown off by having your hair pulled up.

Enough about my self, how are you guys doing??? I miss interacting with all of you lovelies!! Hope you are having a great weekend!!

Favorite Season

Oh, Autumn. My favorite season of all time. Crunchy leaves, hot drinks, sweaters, scarfs, tights, boots and so much more to love about this time of the year.
This being my first outfit post of the season, it was soooo nice to wear a chunky cardigan and boots again! I much prefer styling outfits in the cooler months, yay layering!

Dress made by:sister-in-law
Cardi-F21
Belt-Target
Boots-Payless

I had an idea for an outfit I was going to to wear today, but upon getting a surprise package in the mail containing this amazingly adorable dress, made by my super sweet sister-in-law(my brother helped a little too, hehe), that idea quickly went out the window. She knows me toooo well, I tell ya! Neutral, Oatmeal colored top, light blue bottom with vintage style flowers which are the perfect color and delicate vintage lace trim. Tank dress perfection.

So, how is everyones weekend so far?! Great, I hope! Mine has been pretty relaxed, which is always nice. The hubs and I went on a nice walk to the location these photos were taken. The early fall air felt sooo good and a few trees leaves were already changing color! And then I picked up a few more pairs of thick, opaque tights....something you can never have enough of :)

Keepin' It Simple

Dress-Urban Outfitters
Flats-Payless

I can't really think of anything better to wear on a hot, sticky summer day, other than a tiny and light weight dress. My standard for dress length goes right out the window when the temperature rises above 80 degrees, plus the cuteness factor outweighs the debate of whether or not it is appropriate anyways.
I love the little polka dot color combo paired with the navy and the way too adorable scalloped edges around the bodice. Oh, and the back zipper...always a winner.
(You can see how I styled this dress for Fall here!)

Do you ever go shoe shopping in your own closet? Well, this lady used to work in retail and every retail job I had consisted of a shoe store. So, I have lots...but only regularly wear the same few pairs, until I get bored and think I need a new pair of this or that in a particular color. This outfit needed bright red shoes, so out came the many boxes and a few minutes later I was sportin' a barely worn pair of cute red flats. Score.

Hope your week is going well so far! Guess what, it is Friday tomorrow!
This weekend I am having a girls weekend away with my closest cousins and aunts.
Shopping and drinks are on the agenda...oh boy! :)

Ladylike Summer

Dress-Anthropologie
Belt-Target
Flats-Steve Madden

So, if this dress looks familiar, you got a sneak peek of it here. I love it too much not to let it have its time to shine in a proper outfit post. From the light pretty colors, ladylike length and cap sleeves, adorable little lacy/sheer cutouts on the shoulder and upper back....it is perfect in my book!

How was everyones weekend?! Well, I guess it's Tuesday now...but I have a 4 day weekend this time around...so I am still in weekend mode. We in the Seattle area have had some of the hottest weather all year! It got up in the high 90's, low 100's in some places. Considering people don't really have air conditioning around here, it can get kinda toasty and uncomfy. But, since this girl did live in South Texas for a few years, it wasn't too bad!

We spent Saturday meeting up with my parents in Olympia for lunch and fun times. Sunday the hubs and I went to Seafair and watched the Blue Angels fly above Lake Washington. Soooo cool! If you live in the area or are visiting during Seafair, you have to watch this impressive show! Yesterday and today we have been catching up on some chores, organizing one of our hellish closets and relaxing before I start my new job on Wednesday. Eeeeep! So excited!

Hope you all have a great week!

Polka Dots & Daisies

Dress: Anthropologie
Belt: Target
Flats: Payless

I came across this amazing little bridge when the hubs and I were on a walk one evening. I instantly knew it would be a perfect location to go back to and take some photos, especially on a bright, warm summer day. The river below was filled with kayaks, the paths busy with bicyclists and people that were on long, summer strolls.

Soooo about the dress. The moment I saw it, I had to have it. Seriously. It is so perfect in every way and there is no resisting the lovely, delicate, floral lace back. I love the retro fit, bright yellow color and fun print with the imperfect dots. This is the kind of dress that makes you feel happy from the moment you slip it on.
Do you have a certain piece that makes you feel that way too?

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, filled with fun and relaxation!
